Dear Laura, I'm soooo glad you "get" Healing Your Hungry Heart. It's designed to be a long time companion, to be read slowly while you do the exercises. At least on week for a chapter or even one month or more. When you finish, you can start again. All the exercises will give you a different experience because of how much you developed the first time. You can do that many times. AND, on later readings you can pick new exercises from the Appendix that go with each chapter. Healing Your Hungry Heart can be with you through you entire journey to recovery. By all means share it with you therapist. Some of the exercises will bring up memories or emotions or insights you can bring to your therapy. Not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to coordinate the HHH work with ongoing therapy. That could be great for you.
